3.12-038 Wildfire Picking Sides #1 Genevieve Cortese (Kris Furillo) Greg Serano (Pablo Betart) Micah Alberti (Matt Ritter) Nana Visitor (Jean Ritter) Nicole Tubiola (Dani Davis) Ryan Sypek (Junior Davis) Charlotte Salt (Gillian) Lindsay Price (as herself) James Read (Ken Davis) Maurizio Farhad (Sheik Omar Al Sayed) In this episode, everyone is getting ready for the Bristol Stakes, which Wildfire and Avatar will be racing in. Raintree needs to win the race so they will have enough money to enter Wildfire into the Kentucky Derby. Likewise, Davis Farms is trying to win the race to enter Avatar into the Kentucky Derby. Ken Davis tries to get helpful information on Wildfire from Pablo to have an advantage in the race but Pablo doesn't help him. This leaves Dani looking for a way to give Avatar an advantage. A new and improved Gillian shows up at Davis' farms. Dani then informs everyone that she has agreed to let Gillian and her horse Reliant, which is also running in the Bristol stakes, stay there. Dani tells her father that Gillian will distract Kris, giving Avatar an advantage. It becomes clear that Junior and Gillian become closer, while she stays with them. Meanwhile, Kris desperately tries to mend Matt and Junior's friendship. Neither one is willing to forgive and forget. So, Kris tries to get Dani to help her but Dani refuses. Dani, on the other hand, is busy trying to make a business deal with Omar Sheik, who has recently bought the track where the Bristol Stakes will run. He seems interested and the two discuss matters throughout the show. Before the race, Matt and Junior wish each other good luck and make bets with each other, indicating that their friendship is on the way to a fresh start. The race then begins. Avatar leads the majority of the race with Wildfire close behind. Wildfire begins to pass Avatar but is bumped by another horse in the process. Avatar then wins the race with Wildfire finishing third. Matt, Kris, and Pablo challenge the results but are awarded second place, with Avatar still winning. Even with the winnings, both Avatar and Wildfire fall short for a berth to the Kentucky Derby. Junior wins the bet, so Matt buys him a drink at the night club. The two talk about past times and it seems they are mending their friendship. Matt and Kris return to Raintree and are greeted by Sheik Omar. He tells them that Wildfire should've won the race and offers them a rematch: a race between only Avatar and Wildfire. He tells them that there will be a purse of one million dollars. The only problem is that the race is illegal and could jeopardize the future of Raintree. The show ends with Kris and Matt contemplating Sheik Omar's offer. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own.
